On February 26, two of the area’s most renowned cultural organizations — Ballet Palm Beach and the Palm Beach Symphony – worked in harmony for a special performance on the waterfront, titled Harmony: An Exhibition of the Arts. The free, two-hour outdoor show started at 2 p.m. on Sunday and lasted for about two hours.
This is the second year that two of the area’s world-class performing arts institutions join forces for one entertaining afternoon, all set along the stunning waterfront of Downtown West Palm Beach
The Jupiter Middle School Chamber Choir kicked off the afternoon with an a cappella performance of the national anthem. Palm Beach Symphony presented an exciting and powerful program including Khachaturian’s Sabre Dance, Shostakovich’s Festive Overture, and the first movement of Dvorak’s Cello Concerto with internationally renowned cello virtuoso, Amit Peled, among other selections. The ballet choreographed Khachaturian’s Masquerade Waltz, featuring colorful costumes created just for this occasion.
People brought blankets, picnic baskets and enjoyed an afternoon of music and dance al fresco! There was also a VIP area for those who wanted valet parking, preferred tent seating, luncheon buffet, libations, and desserts.
