The Marine Industries Association of Palm Beach County in partnership with the City of West Palm Beach and Nautical Ventures present the first annual Palm Beach Paddlefest. The event will take place at Currie Park on Saturday, May 14 from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
Palm Beach Paddlefest is a free community event showcasing paddle equipment, accessories, apparel, and more. There will be exhibits and scheduled demonstrations throughout the day, including Kayaking 101, intro to paddleboarding, and paddleboard yoga. Attendees can also sign up for guided kayak tours on the Lake Worth Lagoon offered by Visit Palm Beach.

Nautical Ventures will have its massive 30×60, 40,000 gallon Aquazone pool on display to allow exhibitors to feature products in a pool setting.
At 10 a.m. exhibitors will take part in a paddleboard race coordinated by Blueline Surf & Paddle to try and win one of three top spots with prize awards. “Palm Beach Paddlefest caters to experienced paddlers, as well as those who are brand new to paddle sports and interested in learning more,” said event organizer Alyssa Freeman. “We hope to have a successful first year event, and then hopefully be able to incorporate more demos and races next year.”
What to do at Palm Beach Paddlefest 2016?
Attendees can come by paddle and use the paddle valet as they browse the festival and grab a cold beverage or bite to eat. There will be a face painter and several nonprofit exhibits featuring family friendly activities and displays from Under Blue Waters, FWC, the Florida Fishing Academy, and more. The Samantha Russell Band will provide live entertainment throughout the day, plus there will be a variety of food and beverages for purchase.
