West Palm Beach's Nearest Beach
Photo taken on a quiet morning on December 6, 2017

West Palm Beach is one of the most beautiful cities by the waterfront, though not exactly sitting on a beach like other South Florida cities. Palm Beach, West Palm Beach’s nearest beach, is very close to city’s downtown and well connected to most hotels inland.

The town of Palm Beach is known for its glitzy estates, Worth Avenue shopping district, upscale boutiques, galleries and restaurants. It is home to one of the most luxurious buildings listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Flagler Museum. Known as Whitehall, Henry Flagler’s Gilded Age estate in Palm Beach was once considered more wonderful than any palace in Europe, grander and more magnificent than any other private dwelling in the world.

Palm Beach is to enjoy the beach literary. It’s not a beach for aqua sports or where you may find Caribbean-style cabanas on the sand, nor where you will have bars and restaurants right on the sand to knock down some refreshing shots under the sun. But it makes up for it with the area’s near-perfect weather as a quite beach to relax, read a book, swim shark-carefree, get tanned, play with kids, or snap photos of the surroundings of one of the richest towns in the US.

West Palm Beach’s nearest beach is about 3 miles away from the city’s downtown. If you visit WPB, there are shuttles from and to the hotels, some complimentary, others accesible for a minimal charge. SkyBike is also a very popular, affordable, and healthy means of transportation from West Palm Beach to Palm Beach.

So relax and enjoy your time at the nearest beach in West Palm Beach, and share your experience!
